Default It finally happened...

Had a new lady going for a ride with me for the first time. She went upstairs as I was starting the bike and pulling it out of the garage and then it happened..... forgot to put the kickstand down. Over she went ever so slow with me fighting it all the way. She rested gently on the engine guard. As I was panicking inside hoping that she did not see that, I wrestled her back up and got the stand down. 30 seconds later, my lady came back none the wiser

Dont think she would have got on if she saw that (her first ride). We were gone all day and had a blast. Told her about it later and had a laugh.

As they say: "its not if, but when"

No damage thank God.

Nice save! I stopped by the Harley dealership today and witnessed a fellow rider not so fortunate as to pull off the slow drop without witnesses. A group of three riders pulling in, a Saturday morning around 1000, so a few riders lounging around. Anyway, the middle rider was swinging into the parking space from the rear in order to pull straight out upon leaving. He just fell over attempting the slow moving radius turn. It appears no damage, plenty of help picking the fully dressed Ultra off the ground. The rider seemed a little short and perhaps the weight just got away from him. Nothing hurt but his pride.

You're right! Had she witnessed your mistake, she certainly wouldn't have gone for the ride.

Or, You could have told her we do this all the time to get all the gas to flow from the right tank to the left one. It balances the carbiembelator when we ride two up.

Ouch but...it happens. I've made it a habit when I put the kickstand down, I give it a little kick forward to make sure it's all of the way forward. So that habit, makes sure it's down.

Something tells me you were thinking about better things than the kickstand!

Your were probably thinking about where you were going to be putting YOUR kickstand.
