Default How long are your chaps

I have been looking for a set of chaps and finally tried a pair on today. After finding a pair to fit around my legs and getting them on they were bunched up at my boot and I mean bunched up these things were probably 2 inches to long at least. The lady helping me said "these are perfect, you want them bunched up like this it creates a suction on your boot to keep the wind out".

This will be my first pair of chaps and I need some advice.

Be safe

Sounds a tad long to me.

Put on the chaps and sit on your bike in your normal riding position.

Have someone mark the length you like. (Touching the foot part of the boot as if you were standing up)

They will be longer than the length of your pants and might bunch up a bit,but be fine while you're riding.

Whether right or wrong, I cut mine to where the back is barely touching when I walk and the front extends to where my toes start. It's a diagonal cut. I had to cut it three times b4 I got it right. Don't cut too much at any one time.

I measured when sitting on my bike, so when I stand there is a little extra material.

an inch or two is nice on a long ride because they do ride up some. Not having a breeze up to the kneez is a good thing.

Mine are about an inch long. They don't touch when I walk and they don't ride up when I'm on the bike.

Cut em above your knees so you can wear them in the summer with nothing under them. Very cool. [sm=biker.gif]
