All pros for me. Will never own a bike without them.

I am 73 years old, old man, so I have one on my 99 Softail Custom. As said, they are a nice place for hiway pegs. I dropped mine once backing up on gravel and turning at the same time. I was able to pick it up by myself and had no damage to the bike. I was glad I had it.

IMHO, it comes down to really cheap insurance against a no or slow speed incident.....and they look pretty good in black..

I have a similar debate going on with me and my Slim. So far, no engine guard for me. Though, I must admit, the safety factor is considerable, I just can't seem to add one to my mostly stripped down bike.

They have always had a training wheel vibe to me, though they don't deserve it.

They look great on FL bikes, but IMHO, do NOT look good on Sportys, Dynas, or FX Softies. Makes 'em look like girly bikes.

Don't have them on my Sportsters but have one on the Low Rider 'cause I don't think this old man could pick it up without it.
