Sorry Bill, I am a n00b here so I don't know any of you yet. I certainly would never have guessed TCSTD was a who rather than a what.

I already have the dealership listing. The hard part has been working out the LAT/LONG information which has to come from another source. I worked on it more last night and this morning and think I am running it now for the final pass. I am spot checking dealerships against the Terraserver directly by hand to verify their LAT/LONG matches what my script came up with. Of course I thought I had it all good last night until my local Virginia dealer showed up in ALASKA. Don't ask me what went wrong, it will take me too long to explain. But I have it corrected and running it one last time.

So, I will have the files posted within probably an hour. It is currently parsing dealers in Georgia and has completed almost 200 of the validly addresses 800 dealers.

Ok, I am done. Missing 58 dealers because their addresses are not recognized by Terraserver. Not much I can do about that. And as dealers are added to the HD list I can reproduce these files in about an hour or two, so keeping them up to date should be pretty easy. I also have a link to GPS Babel, a free applicaton to convert various GPS file formats.

If you have problems with any of the files let me know.

sounds like to me you got a software cd to sell to HD.

do a similiar thing with my wifes PDA/GPS with pushpins and the mapping software. Find in the long run that just a plain ol' map(big enough to read without my glasses on) printed out for the area I'm riding/driving in with points of interest/ HD dealers, highlighted works just as well. Even on the longest bike trips we still stop at least twice a tank and between the two of us usually remember the route. Our accuracy usually varies by how much we've adjusted our attitude. When we get past the point where we don't need the map anymore, it goes in the trash along with the Red Bull/Mini Baileys cans.

Those who know me agree. I don't usually sit still, and problems eat at me until they are solved.
