Default Getting seat to fit

God damn!!!! Just got the badlander seat I ordered for my 01 fxdwg. Got it used on eBay for cheap so there ya go. The description said it fit 00-06 but when I threw the bitch on it's a no go. Anything I can modify to make it work? That metal clip under the seat does not line up the part on the frame, not even close. Here's a pic

There were 2 bastard year Dynas; not sure what they were, but I think they were '05 & '06. So, a seat for an '01 & '06 are different. Your seat prolly fits an '06, in which case it will not fit an '01.

Personally, I'd take it to a local upholstery guy to see if he can do anything with it. I know it's not an upholstery problem, but my local guy is really good with stuff like that.

Drill it out and relocate it (the part on the seat). It's just pop rivets. You'll need the heavy duty rivets and tool, but cheaper than a new seat. Then sell the tool.

Get the part number off of the offending seat. List it on ebay or craigslist. Sell seat. Collect proceeds from sale. Search craigslist or ebay for seat that fits. Allocate proceeds from prior sale to new seat. Augment prior proceeds with funds from checking account. Buy the seat you found.

This is the correct answer.
