Can you hear the radio with full helmet?
I want to go to a full helmet but still want to be able to hear the SG stereo. On one hand I think it's likely to actually help by reducing wind noise, on the other, there is the problem where your ears are covered up. If I remember correctly hearing is not really compromised with a full helmet.

I can hear the stereo. Road noise and wind noise, too. There are better places for listening to music than on a bike if you're looking for high-quality sound, I think. Helmet or not.
But, yeah, I can hear the stereo. The advantage to wearing a full-face helmet is that there's a chamce you may be able to listen to music later in life, I suppose.

I've got a Road Glide and I like music on the bike.
My solution: I use a full-height windshield (both to block wind noise and for protection), and I use a full face, but keep the face shield up, generally about 2/3 of "all the way".
I can hear properly that way, and still have reasonable protection against wind, bugs, etc.
Works for me...

Agreed. I only wear a helmet when riding in a state that it is required by law and have been known to break that law. If the weather is sunny and warm I only wear a skid lid. If rain is possible I wear a 3/4 with a flip up/down shield. In the winter I wear a FF modular. Without a doubt I hear best with the skid lid. But that all is about to change as I just received a J&M speaker/180 watt amp system for the Road Glide.
