It helps to keep tire pressure correct, I notice my bike is worse on tar snakes when the tires need air - I check them about once a week usually.
Yeh wet white lines and metal bridge surfaces are also no fun. I also hate when lane surfaces are uneven - sometimes the tires get caught in the dips when changing lanes.

To me at least tar snakes are nothing. It's the dam uneven lips on road surface where they've done a "repair" that runs the same direction as traffic. Also gotta give a shout out to the inner belt 170 in st Louis that has a place where there's a bout 4 inch construction beam that runs at a bout 45 degree angle to the direction youre travelling in a spot in the road where you are in a slight corner. That **** caught my attention once and every other time I weaved into a different angle of attack within my lane. That was bout 15 yrs ago. Hoped they fixed it.
