Rubber Mounting Vs Counter-Balanced Engine

RE: Rubber Mounting Vs Counter-Balanced Engine
If you took the shake out of a Road King, you'd have a lot of pi$$ed off bikers.
Besides, my teeth only rattle if I hold the brake and clutch at the same time.

Women like Harleys because they vibrate.

Those of you that don't feel the 'buzz' at speed, maybe that's because you have that continual buzz in your head from the wind? [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

I see we are talking about the mystery buzz of the B Motors witch is BS. You don't here a Buzz at just any speed at 75-80 you feel a vibe on the feet and it is so slight you have to think about it to feel it. So If you can here a buzz on A softtail at 75-80 MPH with those RPM's and awsome pipes, You must not sleep at night with all those flea farts in the room. I drive in town and traffic and the Heritage is smooth as sh*t and well balanced. And will go down the Highway with any bike out there. I don't get the bashing of either they are both great motors. Hey EVOrider Your right I'm sure there is a difference, But it has to be slight. I did not get to ride the Road King before I got the Heretage, But I new the driving I would do would be mostly around town and some short trips I could not have picked a better bike. Now if I retire and take more long trips may have to look into the Air ride. The Roadking Classic with a 96" B motor and Six speed would be Awsome.Ride Safe Tom

My dad picked up my 03 Heritage for me and dropped it off. I just got home after riding my 58 Pan. Jumped on that new Heritage and went about 2 miles and came back and said that ain't no Harley. Took awhile to get used to the Heritage and I still ride the Pan alot.
And I think it sucks my heritage doesn't shake. A good friend of mine rides an 06 Wide Glide and I always tell him sure wish mine would bounce and shake like his. Some times at the light I shake the bars back and forth and pretend. I like the Heritage alot but the pan has been with me since 1976so we know each other real good. And what is wrong with a little buzz?

Nowhere in my statements did I say the buzz was wrong or even bad....I only stated that it does exist.

I get a buzz when I decelerate from about 80 down to about 75. When I ride @ 78 I feel it so I just go faster. It isn't a harley vibration but a high pitched buzz. I think mine is the counterbalancer decelerating. Dealer said it was normal, I believed him at the time. I later found out he is a lying SOB. Really the only complaint about my 03 Fatboy.
