I've moved on to a nod, but you get the idea. I found Triumph riders the most ignorant and that's when I had a Triumph. I get more nods from Triumphs on my Harley than when I was on a Triumph. Yes...I have issues! Booking a shrink is on my todo list.
In Europe, no I don't count Britain as Europe, they wave a leg...which is weired.
I still remember how I got a kick out of bikers letting on when I was a kid still learning so I guess I'll just stick with the tradition now that I'm an old git on a Dyna.

I get more waves from non-riders than I do from riders. Farmers, construction crews, Gold Wing riders at the side of the road (yes, I will stop for them), and inmate crews picking up litter, etc...
Seems like around here the rumble of a big V-Twin is some universal signal to all within earshot.

Newbies don't wave. They're still white knuckling the bars petrified to take a hand off.
I wave more out of habit than anything else. I've been waving since I started riding a street motorcycle in the 90s. I don't even notice if the other guy waves back or not most of the time. I don't care one way or the other if they do.
