Went on a couple of rides this year when the temperature was around 38 degrees, with the wind chill factor that was a bit too cold, but with clear skies it got the first couple of rides of the year under my belt back in January. I prefer to have the temperatures above 45 degrees.

 

Will ride until it gets almost to the freezing pointfor shorter trips.
Longer trip somewhat above freezing. I am dedicated to riding but hey,
there is a limit I usually look at road conditions also.

Heated gear?? Bah! Don't have any. I'm talkin about riding for a hundred + miles each way in the low teens with thermals under a pair of jeans, lace up loggers boots, long sleeve fleece plus a couple t-shirts under a leather jacket, non-heated gloves, open face helmet with one of those fleece face warmers, googles. Freezin azz cold! The batwing helps. Brrrrrr.....

Riding year round here in Texas we have been out when it's 30 deg. with a real strong wind chill.
But it's still riding and thats all that matters

 

As Vice President of the Florida candy a$$ club,I don't ride below 60 as morning temperture.

 

I wait till it's above 45. I get lots of riding time so I don't feel I have to go out in the uncomfortable weather.
Don't want to add a windshield....only leathers, no heated gear...

 

Wind is a huge factor for me. No wind and sunny? 45 will do. No sun, nearer 55. Windy? 60. When I was a kid I did the 'ride in 20 degree dry road weather. As I got older I gained a measure of common sense and decided riding was meant to be fun and it ain't fun riding with your teeth chattering...

 

I have ridden in temps as low as 12 degrees, but usually wont venture out if its below 30.
