I just received a message from the previous owner. She told me that she found the original mufflers that her dad took off and a spare new-in-box chain. Score. $200 back in my pocket.

This has been a great read so far, some sage advice given especially with regard to getting other parts to modify and being able to restore the bike to stock at some point in time if it becomes necessary.
Nice to see it restored and eventually used. Nicer that it can be brought back to original at some point too.
Plenty of more common bikes around to chop up if you must. Great save.

Really is a good thread like someone said, no drama queens, no trolls, and always enjoy TB's enthusiastic sound advice, I think he's more excited than Dan Makes sitting on my friggin **** all day in my office much better

I wish I could find a deal like that.. love working on bikes and making them custom head turners. That's what I did to my bike. I did my project and saved thousands using the Internet.
