Maybe. The filter sponge material was shot. It was all broken down. I pitched the whole thing.

OMG that thing is over 30 years old. You better just sell it to me and get a nice new one. I'll double your money! j/k

If that carb has issues you may want to look at upgrading to a CV carb, lots of folks have done it and love the results.

I'm going to rebuild it if I can. If not, I may look at an s&s. But I'd prefer to save the money.

Wow.....for a dollar! Sweet find, a Shovel FXR is my dream find.

Assuming you know about the Shovelhead sub forum? Some very knowledgeable peeps there willing to help with tips 'n advice.
