IT RUNS!!!!! It's alive. It crapped out oil and it smokes horribly, also has NO exhaust system, but it runs.
The choke cable needs to be replaced immediately. It is keeping it from idling, but it kicked over.

Can I suggest you pick up another fender to hash up and put all the stock stuff away somewhere, it's worth money now and down the road when the dinky fender trend fads that stock stuff will be like gold. Trust me on that one , those were only made 2 years 82 & 83 be a crying shame to trash it and your resale will be considerably higher with all the OEM parts to go with even if they aren't on the bike.

So, yesterday I spent an hour at te parts counter at the local HD shop (uke's hd in Kenosha). I went through a laundry list of small fiddly parts I needed. They said they had everything on my list when I called. By the time I left the shop, I was carrying ONE fork reflector. 1. It was supposed to be a pack of 2 but someone opened the pack. Looks like everything is special order. It didn't cost any more, but I could have done all that over the phone.
