When you look like this, mothers tend to grab their virgin daughters and flee the scene pretty quickly.

whenever we walk thru a casino (Las Vegas) in our leathers, the crowds part ... ... just love that ....

A Friend or ours, wondered thru a casino recently wearing his leathers and his vest with the HOG patch ... he was followed by two security guards the entire time he was there. He thought it was pretty cool (felt like a celebrity) ... [&:]

Kids from 10 on down seem to love the bike and wave and grin and all. Maybe it'll be better in another generation?

Kids aren't scared of me (must be all the hair, probably look like a monkey to them) but I've had mothers pull their kids away as I pass by. Coming back from basic training had a kid on the plane start petting my arm. He says "look mommy a monkey"!

I shall never go bald, I can always comb over my back hair.

I don't know Frank, I have never had anybody act afraid of me, even when I was younger and was a real outlaw, not just some HOG member..I suppose maybe it is my good looks, my friendly eyes, and my jolly laugh that I have always had..I just love people, I'm people kind of guy..

Have you ever noticed this ... Others are OVERLY polite ...
Yep. Yesterday. Since I took up riding again, I started to explore VA ... I look at the map in the morning, say to myself "Ah, haven't been there yet, either.", hop on the bike and off I go. Ended up around Lake Anna yesterday (~ 60 mls south of Washington), and on the way back, not knowing the area, I stop at roadside Starbucks to grab a cup of coffee ...

Redhead behind counter: "What can I do for you?"
Me: "I'd like a capuccino, please"
Redhead: "Comin' right up"
... 45 secs later ...
Redhead (quite loudly, while batting eyelashes at me): "One tall capuccino for our deliciously attractive young biker here." (Young? Uhm, I turned 40 this year)
Me: "Errr, ok ... thanks much for the coffee and the compliment."

That's certainly never happened to me in a coffee shop ...

it is funny how people look at you when you roll up on your bike. It seems like everyone has a story to tell you about their experience on a Harley. They either had one, knew someone who had one or always wanted one. It is hard to be an introvert sometimes when you ride.
There are other times when people see you coming and automatically think you are an outlaw biker and they stay away from you. Either way, when you pull up on a Harley you automaically get respect from the people around you.
My wife the attention we get when we are on the bike..

ahhh, come on Bear. Who you tryin to kid. We all know that bikers are never jolly. Bunch of sneering, snarling, steely eyed, and dour faced badazzes. If you doubt it, you just need to read more biker forum stuff. And surely you ain't sayin that HOG ain't real outlaw bikers.

I always thought that being perceived as a badass was part of the attraction of riding a Harley. It shouldn't be a suprise to anyone
