'Easy Off' claims another victim....
I tried a tip I got on the forum and screwed it up. I wanted to remove some boot marks from my pipes with Easy Off oven cleaner. I hurried the job (mama was in a hurry) and I didn't get it all sprayed (cleaned) off. Result is on some chrome and more frame and engine black paint I now have this whitish colored crap. I believe chrome polish will get the chrome stuff all prettied up....but what can I do for the black painted items that received way too much oven cleaner?
Man, I'm a bonehead, for sure, and appreciate the forums suggestions......

You're correct...and I was too much in a hurried state of mind. My fault!
...but where can I go from here on the cleanup?!?!?!?

Ya know....I posted what a dumb idea this was a number of months ago on a different thread...I got:
In a short phrase...You're screwed. That stuff is corrosive. It's eaten into the powder coating on the motor. It's also probably eaten through the thin coat of chrome and gotten into the nickel.

some black nail polish will make up the spots on the frame.
as for the chrome, eh, well. maybe its time to get louder pipes?
