A buddy of mine did the same thing. We sprayed a mixture of simple green and water on it. Damn stuff came right off. I use Simple Green to clean my bike all the time. I havent seen any problems with it?
Is that why I get a wiff of "pine scent" on the road every once in a while??

Thanks for the great suggestions......and ah, the comments....! Always can count on you guys (gals). I used baking soda and it worked quite well. Hardly any evidence of my screw up! I'll try the brake cleaner and simple green to see if that improves it anymore. Right now I'm a happy boy again!

And NO, it AIN'T fer SALE!!!!

That's just my cabbie air freshner. It's better than smelling baked chicken or pork roast from the oven!

On the chrome for boot marks you can use a product called "Goo Gone" it works fairly well and if that doesn't work just spray a little carb cleaner on a rag and wipe it off.

For plastic bags etc. I use Ice. Just get several cubes of ice and hold it on the spot where the melted plastic is. Get it as cold as you can and it should chip right off.

Of course this is all for future use.
