Dragging feet?!

Dragging feet?!
Saturday we were in the cage headed south on I35 near Ames IA. Saw a group of about 4 on sport bikes going the other way through a construction zone, so their speed was probably 55-60. At least 2 of these riders had their feet pointed down near the pavement. If their toes weren't scrapping it was darn close. Why would they do this? I don't get it.

Cracks me up to look at some guys shoes. Some ha no soles in the front from toe dragging or no heels from heel dragging at stops.
Me I practice timing and stay on the pegs
That is the finesse part of riding

No really Good reason. A race bike does put you forward and your feet on controls are angled downward more. It looks much diff than on a cruiser. I'm 6'2" with size 12 shoes and my toes never dragged. My knees did on corners though. LOL.

This. I don't know why people leave their feet down when setting off from lights, but if they are rolling at speed it's usually just to give their legs a stretch.

When I used to ride my Hayabusa long distances I would ride like that to stretch my legs. I would also stand on my pegs to relieve my ***. Never drug my feet on the ground. Of course, then I would get back into riding position and blow by all the cruisers... oh the good old days...

I used to ride that area a lot when I lived in Ames. I would ride from Ames up to Mankato, or west to Omaha on my R1. Those long straight roads get pretty painful on a sportbike. My hips would be hurting after about an hour. I'd have to take my feet off the pegs just to stretch out.
