Harley Museum Tour
In a couple of weeks my wife and I are off on a road trip, and will have a day at the HD museum in Milwaukee. Who has been there? What is a must see while there? Any tips will be appreciated, I do not want to miss a important part of the museum.

Try to do it on a Thursday when they have bike nite, museum is not that big so you really will not miss anything, also grab a bite to eat at the Motor restaurant.

Be sure and get the tour of upstairs where they have all the other bikes stored. Unbelievable!! Also if you don't have your hotel yet the Ironhorse just across the river from the museum is a cool place to stay.
The Lakeside Brewery is a good way to fill some time as well.

The steel toe tour is supposed to be good. In addition to the museum they put you on a bus for a trip up to the assembly plant for a short tour. It's only on certain days of the week though so need to plan it into your schedule.

We went two years go and I will say take your time and look at everything. It never hurts to read all those little scripts of information. We didn't get a chance to do the side stuff like the factory thing or the behind the scenes stuff. But it's definitely worth it.

Yep take the additional tour ! The museum is not huge but is quality stuff so take your time and see all of it, check out the website they have traveling exhibits. Eat at the lunch counter and check out the store as well. Make sure you get down to the lake front and see lake Michigan as well. Lots of neat stuff between ND and Milwaukee. Was just in Medora for a week on our land wow what a change with the boom ! Ride safe and enjoy.

I've been a museum member for years and average once a month for lunch/dinner at the Motor. Spend the extra $4 and do the audio tour in addition to what others have mentioned. Don't Forget to take a ride over to the original plant on Juneau Ave - a few miles away. In fact I'd be happy to buy ya a beer when your in town,
