Maybe you shouldn't go to any more events...... You just described the majority of them.
...
bummer. smaller rallyes are where it at then!

music is usually hit or miss, but generally more contemporary.

food is usually pretty good, and free, or cheap. yeah. tiny tiny rallyes, under 500 people. awsome!

usually not so may *****. oh well. byob i guess.

no covers ever, unless they include food, beer, and shirt.

some of the best riding i have ever seen has been in small small rallyes. places where you can take 100 people that you cant take 5000.

its like the difference between going to a great little club to see a band vs going to the enormodome.

$35.00 dollars for 5 days of events and 5 bandsis expensive? You must have been one of the smart ones and paid $15.00 per day. Both 38 special and Foreigner kicked ***. Was in center and 15 yards from stage. Lots of raw power from the bass and drums, real guitar solos with feeling(somethingthat rarely exist now) and the lead singer sounded like the record.

Can't argue with you about the burgers, but who eats thatcrap anyways.Band's startingat 9:00 PM,that's early forthe older generation hell were just getting started. Our day started at 5:00 AM, got home around 1:00 AM after getting through the road block set up on the 101. Didn't likeeating dust to much, but it was worth it.

Suggest higher paying job and hit the gym to build your stamina for next years event.

Take care,

Old Joe

I was there on Saturday. Thought it was cool but pretty expensive. $9.75 for a damn hamburger that tastes like crap??? Most of the ***** I saw were on 40 year old, nasty looking chicks. I love riding my Harley, but as a younger rider I go to these Harley events and shake my head at some of the women. We are talking a MAJORITY of them are old, overweight, and not very attractive. The few ***** I did see that looked good, were the vendor chicks working it. Weren't a whole lot of those either really. The highlite for me was doing the Charity ride that the DPS escorted up to Westworld. I thought Foreigner sucked. They haven't had a hit since what 1985?? Let's get some better and more current bands there next time.I did meet Willie G. which was pretty cool. Other than that, Westworld did not impress me all that much....sorry to come off so negative, but the actual event to me just was not that good....here's what I would do to improve it for next year.

1. Get a band like Green Day to play. Even if your in your 40's you'll probably still enjoy them more than those old *** 80's groups that keep hanging around like annoying flies. Tell .38 Special, to find one and use it on their selves....Bad Company, yeah they got the name right. They were BAD...

2. Have the concerts start earlier. Instead of 9PM, make it 7PM. Wanted to stay for the wet T-Shirt contest but it wasnt gonna start til 11. We're in Arizona folks. It's 90 degree's and we've been there since 1PM...way too long of a day already...

3. Maybe its me, but other than the 200 mile ride it seemed most of the "charity rides" were fairly short and weak. Spice it up some and offer some full day rides to like Tombstone or Sedona...

4. More demo Harleys. My brother wanted to ride a street glide. Problem was, they only had 1 or 2 of them and he was told he'd have to wait close to an hour to ride...

5. Finally, if your gonna charge 10 bucks for a burger and 9 bucks for an italian sausage, get rid of the cover charge. I spent 60 bucks on food and drink alone, and I barely ate...
So that was YOU looking at my wife's *****? [sm=icon_rofl.gif](She's 32 years old, just had implants in Feb!)

I'd have to agreewith some of what you are sayingthough, paying to go to some vendors is pretty lame if you ask me. My wife and I rode up to Westworld with route2null and his wife for Saturday night. It was pretty decent. I'm not a huge Foreigner fan overall, but the music wasn't too bad. Part of it was the company though; some of our PGR friends surprised us (didn't even realize they were going, and we all rode up to Cave Creek that morning!) So we had a good time with our friends; my wife got her picture at the Fucm (as in F-ck em) booth on the stripper pole, and got a patch for her HD jacket she's been wanting for awhile. As far as the time, surely you jest! Are you sure you're a younger guy with that comment? It's a bike rally! I can't imagine things shutting down early at Sturgis or Daytona; just because AZ bike week is smaller it should? My buddies and I have closed down strip clubs in Phoenix for bike nights!

Overall I had a good time on Saturday. I hadn't been since I owned my Lowrider (3 years ago now), and that one was pretty lame I had thought. The best times I had were back in 2001 and 2002 for bike week; those were some serious parties! Anyone else remember the Saturday parties at Jackson's and Cooperstown? The thing I liked the best was the parking under that big tent (well lit too!), made me feel a little better about parking my bike (just had the new wheels and stuff put on, so I was irrationally paranoid!)

Talked to the promotors at a bar today and they wanted to know my opinion of the event. They are interested in feedback from people who attended.I directed them to this website .One item of interest we talked about was the cost of food. They told me that the city of Scottsdale tells them what food vendors are goimg to be there and they have no control over the food or the pricing. They also have to pay the city 20% of all alcohol sales. This is the first year they have broke even. They are doing this to promote riding in AZ.I see these guys on Wed. night and will pass along any feedback. They just got the rights to the event a couple of years ago, and I think they have done a good job of improving it since the days of dusty Rawhide.Room for improvement, yes,but on the right track.Dealing with the city of Scottsdale is not a easy thing.
