Default Biketoberfest 2014

So, I've found myself with a bunch of vacation in October, and it looks like Biketoberfest is smack-dab in the middle of it. Hell, I've never done Biketoberfest, and in my neck of the woods, there isn't much riding done between mid-November and March. I'd be riding down solo (which is fine with me), through the Virginias and Carolinas. Is anybody else from the northern states planning on heading down? For those that have been, is it worth the ride from up this way?

I do Biketoberfest every year BECAUSE of the ride. The weather is usually perfect that time of year. I live in Mass and am 1150 miles from Daytona but log anywhere from 2-3 thousand getting there. Last year we ended up in New Orleans.
Between you and Daytona are some of the best motorcycle roads in the country. So, have a ride, don't hurry to get there and oh yeah, I forgot to mention, there's a rally in Daytona when you finally do get there. What can be better than that?

We ride up from S Florida. I prefer Biketoberfest to Bike Week, it's a little smaller but still busy and all the big vendors are there, and all the entertainment etc. The last 2 years the weather was perfect, warm days and cooler nights.

I go every year. PM me when you are leaving & we'll hook up. Just a couple hour ride for me.

Sounds good. I've pretty much decided I"m going. Usually, I have to plan my time-off around crap that I wanna do. It's working out all too well for this one, so why the Hell not?

dickey - I'll definitely do that. Thanks!

It's about half as many bikers as Bike Week in March. Still a metric **** ton.

I go every year to both events. (10 minute ride)

I was thinking about riding down there this year as well. I'm out near OBX(About an hour S of Norfolk, VA). Id be in to hook up with a group if there's ride down. It'll depend on whether I can get my leave, but it shouldn't be a problem.

I prefer Biketoberfest than the other Bike week due to less congestion. (You can get around and see more.) the restaurants are less crowded and the weather is great. Make sure to ride A1A either way you won't be disappointed.

Sometimes do Bike Week but always do Biketoberfest. As others have said, great weather, less crowded (although still plenty busy).

I attend both every year. The weather in Florida at that time of the year is alway perfect. It is not as congested as Bike Week. The only time I seem it as crowd as Daytona Bike Week, was during the 20th anniversary of Biketober Fest.
