Default Loud a$$ pipes

I have a set of Vance & Hines Straightshots on my Dyna ,and just for the hell of it I took the baffles out to see what difference it made . Damn theese pipes are so loud now I set off 3 car alarms yesterday, and makes the bike sound like a top fuel drag car . It doesn't seem to effect the performance that much ,atleast none that I can tell . I think I'm gonna put them back in today ,just too damn loud without them ,and I don't really care for the rapping exhaust sound . So if anyone is looking for a really loud exhaust just pick up a set of straightshots and take out the baffles , lol .

I'm with you, I'd put them back in, I like to be able to think, and LOUD pipes do nothing but annoy those around you, you can still have loud pipes that you can rap to get peoples attention when needed without going totally deaf in the process.

I pulled out the baffles on my pythons and the sound was awesome, loud and proud, but it killed the bottom end, bad, I mean real bad so I reinstalled them, I still think they sound real good with them in.

I have the V+H classic slip ons..I was thinking I may pull the baffles and remove 2 or 3 inches worth of the fiberglass packing.

I think this would add to the volume without driving the neighbors crazy and without killing performance.

I may be wrong.

I finally got my Samson Big Guns II w/out baffles on my deluxe. My prior RK had samsons w/out baffles also. I ride about 45 miles into Atlanta. I had several close calls with the stock exhaust cuz no one could hear me. I have had ZERO since the pipes were installed. I don't care who it annoys as long as it helps protect me.

Regarding straight pipes or anything close to them, go to the touring bike section and check out the "Tired of the noise" thread.
