everytime I take it out of the garage. just sumthin to do. But I take one area and clean it very good. then the next week same thing again but different area. I've got my used 1997 FXDWG looking like a show room ride and it only took a bout a month of sundays.

I ride almost every day, so.....
I clean the windshield when I can't see through it and hose the bike downevery month or two. It gets cleaned and detailedwhen I do a 5 or 10K service. Right after a service is a good time to check/repair rock dings, broken stuff, etc.
The bike is white so it does not look dirty because I dothe wheels/tiresonce a month or so to get rid of the brake dust and clean the whitewalls. If the wheels/tires are clean, the bike looks great.

Have to say .. I ride it, & then clean it up for the next ride.. I'd rather people look & think 'what an awesome bike!' , rather than , 'that bike needs a wash!'

My baby gets washed weekly. No sense in having all that beautiful chrome and glossy paint if it isnt going to be kept sparkling.
Just my opinion, I've always been **** about keeping my truck clean when I owned an 18 wheeler, and my pick-up.....just carries over into my bike. I love a well taken care of shiny machine.

I don't see how you guys that are rubbing on your bikes all the time without rinsing it with water are avoiding tiny scratchs and swirls.
I never rub on mine unless I'm waxing. I just rinse, spray with S-100, and rinse. I may use a lambs wool mitt and good car wash to get the bugs off. Then, I blow it dry. I usually wax after every other wash. By "wax", I mean a 10 minute job....what I miss this time, I'll get the next.

I wash mine at least two times a week. I usuallyhave time to wash it at the fire station some time during my 24 hr. shiftand always have time at my part time job at McKeller Sipes Airport. I know that sounds excessive but it lets me check the bike out while washing it and also passes the time.

If it's a long weekend or something like that I'll let it go in order to get some more riding time in. Otherwise, it gets cleaned every time it moves. It's relaxing to me, I'll sit in the garage for an hour or so with the radio on drinking beer and cleaning, just enjoying being out of the house.
