Default OKC to Eureka Springs

The wife and I are Going to the Blues and BBQ in Oct. we will be staying in eureka springs and riding back and forth from the rally.

Wanted some ideas of a route other than I-44 to 412 in the okie state. and what the roads are like, remember I am a newbie and the twisty curvy roads scare the Heck out of me. Not to mention I have picked up to many people and pieces of people that got ate up by the asphalt, and do not want anyone to have to pick up my pieces.

Thanks guys

P.S this sight is a blast its almost better than ****

You could run I-40 East and take Arkansas 23 North.

Or you could take the scenic route. About 385 miles.

For your way home, I would suggest Hwy 62 northwest out of Eureka Springs over to I540. It is twisty, but very scenic.

My folks live in Eureka Springs and I don't think there are any ways in or out that aren't pretty twisty and tight. I would recommend the Crescent Hotel (stayed there two weeks ago) if you have money to spend, otherwise there are several biker friendly motels. The whole town is very biker friendly, but it is in the Ozarks, very steep and twisty, even in town.

Yeah I remember heading into Eureka when we got married 2 years ago, and it was not much fun at night in Feb. We are staying at Holiday Island, same place we stayed at when we got married.

Well I have untill Oct. to ride and practice hopefully it will not seem so intimidating by then, I am learning to ride at my own pace, so If I have to slow folks down then guess we be ridin slow

Firecap, that's cool. My girl and I got married there 2 weeks ago yesterday. Didn't get to take the bike, step-kids, stuff for the wedding, etc. My folks actually live in Holiday Island. Beautiful country, but when we ride up there this summer, I am planning it so I get there while I'm still fresh. There is a way into Holiday Island that is faster coming off 62 coming across from Rodgers, I don't remember the road number, but you will see a sign that says Holiday Island 11 miles. It is a very twisty road, but it keeps you from going all the way east to Eureka Springs and you get to go over a very cool 1-way supension bridge.

I live east of Rogers out by Beaver lake. We take HWY 12 out to 23 then up to Eureka. Its not near as twisty at 62. There is a cut through that you can take and not have to go all the way to Cliffty but I dont remember the number (maybe 175?). You turn left at a small old time gas station.

Ride Safe
