Too many miles for new?

Too many miles for new?
Hey everyone! I have an odd question here. I'm looking at a new bike at my dealership and it has 53 miles on it. Is it just me or does that seem like a lot of miles on a new bike? I don't think I've ever seen more than 15 on any new car/motorcycle that I've ever seen before. Thanks for your insight!!

To the best of my knowledge they can sell it as "new" as long as it's never been registered to someone. I'm guessing it has had a few test rides on it.
I bought a new car back in 2006, it was a 2005 with 200 miles on it. It was the last one of that year and had been test driven a few times. I got it for a really good deal.

I suspect it's either a test ride or two, or there was an issue with the bike and the tech put a few miles on it after it wax fixed.
What ever the answer is, tell them it bothers you and they might give you a little something to sweeten the deal.
I personally wouldn't be concerned about it.

Never owned by anyone is new. As for the miles on it, it could have been a demo. Ask the dealer why it has so many miles.

I imagine one or two other may have rode the bike and then decided on buying something else. Do you buy a bike without riding it first?

Demo...buyer remorse...fix...???
Bought a "new" Mustang in 1984 and it had little over 100-miles. Found out it was the pace car at local dirt-oval racetrack at weekly feature events. Their crowned race princess(es) would ride on top (T-top) so I just had to do the "sniff-test" up there...

This is a real peeve of mine. I refuse to buy as new any vehicle that someone else has taken out to drive. You don't know how it was driven during those 53 miles. Some a$$hat running it to the rev limiter to see how she runs, or lugging the crap out of it. That is a used vehicle, don't care what the law says.
