Default Anyone swap handlebars, WITHOUT running wires internally?

Hi,

I'm trying to go the easy route of switching out the handlebars on my 2014 street bob. I'd like to go from chrome to black. Also, maintain the 12" height.

If I don't run the wires internally, it should be a quick and painless swap, right? I know it's a lame question, but I've never swapped handlebars before.

Anyway, below is what I may install. Nothing too fancy. I saw them on ebay for $80. Do you see any issues with these bars?

THANKS!

I had mine changed at a dealership because of the wiring. If the controls were like the 70s, I would have done it myself. But it was a lot cheaper going outside of the bars, just not as "clean" looking.

As for your bars, just longer wires and cables would be the only problem. Mine weren't that much different than stock, 6" risers and drag bars.

Good Luck with the switch.

BTW...there's a thread on "14 Apes Install" on this page. He may be able to help.

If you are running the wires externally you need to make sure the bars you pick are dimpled for external wiring..I have to ask though...why would you do that??? It is such an easy swap on a 14 Canbus bike. You don't even have to disassemble the plugs. They are small enough to pull right through. If you stay under 14", you don't need extensions either. There is plenty of wire in the backbone...
