Default Washed my bike with gas

[:@]

stopped for gas last night and the pump was acting goofy and pumping slowly....I pulled the nozzle up a bit after I got about 4 gallons and went too far as it slipped past the filler neck hole..just as I got full pressure..[:@]...gas sprayed everywhere...soaked the bike...my clothes..by the time I got home (about 45 miles) my left leg felt like it was on fire..
and...I dropped my friggin gas cap[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
skeered the schit outta me too...gas sizzlin on exhaust smells baaaadd!

thought I was going to be a real life ghost rider

Be careful out there!

Hope you got it cleaned real good. I have lost my gas cap on the road before, but luckily It was not too full where I lost any gas.

I've had that happen a couple of times in the past. Got a jacket that I can't get the gas smell out of. LOL. I always make sure to rinse it off wth a lot of water and soap cause I'm paranoid about messing up the paint.

Sounds like you were having one of those real good days!!!! I bet you look back on it one day and laugh your butt off as you tell the story to some riding buddies over a cold beer!!

I hate it when that happens. It seems to always happen right after I have detailed my scoot too.

Damn nozzles around here pump way to fast for a bike , got to be real careful ! Really pisses me off when I dribble on my tank , therefor it never gets filled to the top .

Off topicsomewhat , the other day I was getting diesel in my truck , I was washing the window when I hear splashing . The damn nozzle did not click off automatically , a couple gallons of diesel down the side of my new truck and all over the ground . Told the attendant about it , he was upset - his problem , not mine ! I can guarantee you I was more upset than him !

Man do I wish that was really true. My first HD, emerald green Sportster, what a great color. Thought a set of pinstripes and a design on the tank in gold would look good and it did, for a while. Unfortunatley, the guy that painted the bike told me after the fact that the gold he used could not be cleared over and the spilled gas would eat it up like a bum at a buffet. Sure enough, but that was a long time ago. It still sucks to spill gas, or better yet, fill the tank on a hot day only to find gas exiting the overflow tube while you're still parked. Not that it's ever happened to me.
