Okay folks here is the deal....
My wife agreed, after seeing a buddy of mine get hit by a rock at 40mph, that I need a new jacket. Since the one I have now is only good at stopping bees...maybe. That being said I have had my eyes on the FXRG Mid weight jacket.

but I can't quite handle the 600.00 price tag.
does anyone know a great alternative. I would like this to be my year round jacket, and since I commute everyday, the lining would be really nice to have.

Expensive? Yes. But if you consider the lifetime of a good jacket you're probably going to end up paying $15.00 - $20.00 more a year for the jacket you want as compared to some cheap piece of leather. To me it's worth the extra money to have the one you like and the one that works well for you.

I have the Harley Switchback jacket. It's more comfortable than both of my leather jackets and offer more versatility. I have the 2006 version, however here is the 2007 model. 98281-07VM. It works great in cold weather, and with removable panels, it turns into a mesh jacket for summer.Mine also came with Armor in the elbows, shoulder and spine.
I also see them on ebay for $250.
