I wear a FF when riding Sportsters™. I just can't wear a 1/2 helm without a windshield.

But on BTs with windshields I'd never wear a FF ... thats so uncomfortable I'd just as soon not ride.

At least I didn't have shorts and flip flops
There you go. Not to mention you're way more experienced than I.

But on the flip side, I have been riding horses all of my life and I ALWAYSwear a helmet, gloves and boots when riding. Didn't used to, but most show grounds require them now and traummatic brain injury from horseback riding is not uncommon, so I protect my head and other parts. If I am jumping a cross country course, I wear body armor too. Hitting a fence and landing hard is not fun and I've done it. I have also come off and smacked my head, hard. Without a helmet, I certainly would have had a concussion, at the very least. Also, my regular ride is a big 4 year old stallion, so for me, it's not about guts or experience.

It was just interesting to me to see so many people beingcavalier about their well being.

Folks have to be comfortable with their level of risk vs exposure..

I cover up, although I don't always wear my riding pants, sometime I just wear jeans. I always wear a jacket, either leather in cold or mesh when its warm. I curently wear either a 1/2 lid or a 3/4.

I find the mesh jacket to be more comfortable on long rides than getting blasted by the wind, I think its actually cooler once I get that swamp cooler effect going with the air passing through the jacket. and i don't get nearly as dehydrated. sun burn sucks and the long term damage from over exposure is very real.

I've been around long enough to be a strong believer in Murphys Law. If it can go wrong it will. I have to admit that in the peak of our summers here in Arizona I go lighter than I should. Around town I'll wear boots, levis, gloves, leather vest and 1/2 helmet. That is my compromise to the weather gods. On the highway trips I will still atleast wear my leather jacket and full face.

I agree with HC leather .is awfully uncomfortable to me, I've gotta world famous, recommended by everyone Fox Creek classic 11 jacket and it drives me crazy to wear it. Like I'm in a straight jacket. I'm sure if I fell down it would be worth it, I can use it when it's cold but I think it would melt you down in these hot georgia summers

I am probably going to get a mesh jacket with armour to wear during the summer as I think the leather jacket in the high 80's to 90's is going to get uncomfortable. But I will still be covered. May also try out a pair of the "Draggin Jeans".
