Power Ranger SportBike Rider Made My Day
Amazing beautiful summer like weather here in Northern Illinois today...
Millions of bikes out here and in Southern Wisconsin, the bike buzz was in the air,you could see it in other riders, enthusiastic waves again and again......
At one point leaving a small town I hit it hard and had theTrain flying down the road when I noticed something approaching rapidly...it was a sportbike rider doing the most extremely long, extremely intense wheelie I've ever seen.
Say what ya will about those crotch rocket riders,I know the statement he was making and nothing I saw all day said Summer 0f '07 as well as that....

at 50mph -drop it down to second gear, then blip the throttle -
the front wheel lifts as easy as cake, ride it out to about 110-120mph
power wheelie yeeeeehhhahahhahhhaaa
OR just twist throttle tight while rolling in 1st gear - TADA, power wheelie
still have to shift into second though.
Not that I do wheelies with my Ninja or anything, I'm just saying -
that would be the way I'd probably make the statement you're talking about.
ummhhmmm.

RE: Power Ranger SportBike Rider Made My Day
Well, ummm,Kawasaki called it a"Ninja"
- they plastered "Ninja" stickers on it. ($78 for the tail section is ya happen to destroy one -irridium, flip flop color decal))
I normally just call it the "9"
sometimes"Lime9"
sometimes "ZX9"
sometimes "ZX9r"
sometimes "Ninja"
sometimes "sportbike"
sometimes "cruise missle"
sometimes "bike"
Kawasaki doesn't use the Ninja term for the newer bikes, just the plain old ZX10r
the other sportbikes don't have the recogition of being a "Ninja" - strickly Kawasaki term.
Suzuki has the "gixxer" term
Kinda like the "Jet Ski" - Kawasaki originated the term for their first personal watercraft.
now everyone refers all of 'em as Jet Ski's
call the Harley the "Phatail" or "Harley"
