The Harley from the movie 'Black Rain'
I was searching for something totally unrelated yesterday and ran across this interesting tidbit about the Harley from the movie Black Rain. For those old enough to remember, that's the one where there's a race between a Harley and a crotch rocket right at the very beginning of the movie and the Harley wins.

I always thought that was a very underrated movie, and that cafe racer-style Harley with the fairing still looks cool after all these years.
Nothing terribly new here, I just thought it was interesting to read about an old bike. Apparently, this guy managed to get hold of the one from the movie. The story is about a year old, but apparently the guy from Tracy Fairings who did the original mods saw the story and contacted the author and offered to make new parts if anyone is interested.

A few days ago I was contacted by the founder/owner of Tracy Fiberglass Works, Tracy Fairings, etc. He let me know he still has all the molds he's worked on including the Black Rain fairing and the XLCR style Revolution body, which was actually made in low numbers for the Custom Chrome catalog, albeit with a different fairing. Looks like over the last couple of years that he's had enough interest that he's decided to get up and running again making fairings, bodies, and all the other goodies. Going to have to get a couple of things taken care of so that I can score one of his Revolution bodies.

Remember, movies are not reality!
