Anyone GoPro ?

I was messing around with the mount last night. In the end, I will buy a Hogtag. But we are leaving Sunday for our week long trip to the BRP and won't have it in time. I got one of the GoPro handlebar mounts. After a little swearing at it, I finally figured the puzzle out. I got it mounted to the right turn signal base with a short arm so the vibration isn't too bad. I took a quick test ride and was happy with it. The frame covers about 1/3 of the turn signal, but it's still very visible. I have just a little fine tuning to do for the adjustment and aim of the camera. My plan it to velcro the remote on the center of the inner fairing between the tach and speedo.
I was going to mount it on the bar by the passing lights but I couldn't get it to fit.
What resolution seems to give the best balance between video quality and reasonable file size. My test video tonight was only 7 minutes in 1080-medium view/30 fps and it was 1 GB. Even with a 64GB memory card, that won't cut it.
I don't know if I want to run video or just run time lapse photos most of the time.

They are alot of fun to play with, I just mount mine on the helmet...Just me though, I just like being able to get off the sled without having to interrupt taking it off if I am someplace where action is......Its trial an error though, like your sled...its up to you how you use it...Have fun with it, they are a hoot...

I have the KW Machine Works Billet
Adjustable Camera Mount for the GoPro Cameras. and the
KW Machine Works Billet
12 inch Extender. Good stuff especially if you want to be sure that everything is secure.
I mounted it on the rear of the frame on my Softail...needed to tighten it up a little more...

The GoPro worked like a champ on our trip the VA, NC, Tn last week. I will post up some pix and videos once I get them uploaded. The mount to the turn signal post worked great. it's steady up until 50 mph or so. I'm glad I didn't do the helmet mount. It would be right in the air coming over the windshield and likely cause a lot of buffeting.

How timely.
Ive been thinking about a GoPro alot lately, and yesterday just motivated me. Had a bad day riding. Scenery is great, but what I really want is a record of traffic around me.
I've been a victim of hit-and-run before, and I wish I'd had a video since I never saw the guy coming that hit me. I'd need a camera that would work at night and in the daylight, and could possibly capture license plates . I don't have any clue as to where to mount a camera, or cameras, and what would work best.
But I'm really curious what you guys would have to say about this intended use. I'm sick of being victimized, and I want proof if I ever am victimized again.
Any experts who could get me pointed where I need to go ?

My wife got me one for my birthday. I tried it out for the first time yesterday, and I'm reasonably impressed. I like the fact that I can review what I'm doing and see where I'm screwing up my corner entry.
It looks like it's going to be a great teaching tool.
