RE: Deer
Thats what the state of Va thought also, they re-introduced the coyote here and now they are having problems with them cleaning up the neighborhood pets. Im not sure if/how much they are helping to control the deer herds. Now there is a bounty on coyotes in some counties.

Living in IL close to Chicago we have urban'suburban deer which are the worst kind. They are all concentrated in forest preserve areas and are so used to people and cars they never give them a second thought. On my way to or from work, 35 miles one way, I'll normally see at least 4-5 deer per week that have been hit. You have two choices let the animals decide when and where you will ride or slowdown and be extremely careful.
I try to do my part and bowhunt locally every year. No shotgun season in Cook county, too populated. I do go the next county over with my shotgun however.

Aw, deer and turkeys. Gods wrath on bikers.
If it were up to me the Wisconsin deer and turkey season would be 365 days a year, 24/7, with hunters being able to use machine guns and hand gernades to bag the wothless pieces of sh*t.

My sister also lives in CR, it’s not just the deer we all need to look out for but also those raccoons in the evening. Last fall we had three bikes riding south out of Clinton, all of a sudden I see two raccoons trucking out of the ditch on my left side and they were moving fast. The first one almost clipped the back tire on the bike that was leading us and I hit the brakes (keep in mind they were about 3-4 feet apart) it was kind of weird because I knew if I stayed on the brakes I was going to hit one of them, so I let off and hit the gas and went right between them. The people behind me said both were only about four inches on either side of my foot pegs. Scared the crap out of me.

We have tons of those damn things in suburban MD. They should have 365 days for hunting them. The state should set up processing stations and pay hunters $25.00 per head. The state can then give the deer meat to the homless shelters for preperation.
This gets rid of that worthless plague, saves the insurance companies and us a ton while feeding the homless. hmmm makes too much sense- let's not do that. [:@]

The one cool thing the DNR and the hunters do around here is feed the home less with the deer meat. There is some type of program set up for it, they use up around 3000 deer a year, mix it with beef. They need to up it a little to like 10,000 deer.
