It certainly reinforced what can happen if you don't wear protective gear. For those of you asking, I wore the HD Torque leather jacket, full helmet, boots and gloves and jeans. The bike is an 06 Train. I guess the service appt to have the stage one re-map just turned into a little lengthier stay in the shop. Thanks for the kind works though guys.

BTW, the jacket after a 30 foot slide on gravel/asphalt still looks great, all things considered. IN case an of you were considering that jacket I'm glad I could provide you with a real world durability test.

Glad to hear yer alright. It's a truly scary feeling to have the bike make up it's own mind where it wants to go. I had the handlebars fold on me last summer while I was making a curve...sent me straight into the ditch. Got up with a banged up knee and seriously bruised pride.

May I suggest dragging your jacket behind your car for a few blocks instead the next time you wanna test it? It's a lot easier on the body and wallet<g>

i just picked up my bike today from the dealer. coming home i practically walked it through an intersection cause it had so much gravel down. luckily nothing happened. 50.3 miles on the odometer now.

glad to hear you are ok. amazing how protective gear can take a beating and still look great.

Glad you are ok. Put 1 down about a year ago. Most of the damage was limited to my pride.
