I wonder what the deal is with this seller?...no Ebay history...not a registered user..

the seller states in the ad that he (she?) will take $7000 for the bike..I think if I was closer I'd bid and then just make arrangments to show up in person with $$$.
maybe take a few forum members to keep the seller honest

sounds kinda shaky to me...but hopefully someone will get a good deal on what looks to be a great bike.

interesting...its says the seller updated the ad yesterday, but today is not a member..maybe Ebay bounced the seller because they advertised their personal email for direct sale..
seems like they would pull the ad though..

 

That's one of the biggest scams on Ebay. Contact him, and I'll bet the bike isn't his and is in Germany or somewhere overseas, he'll pay for the shipping by sending you a cashier's check, yada yada yada...

 

It amazes me that in this day and age...after it being all over the news, all over the internet, all over the newspapers, after hearing people talking about it at the grocery store, after my parents even being able to figure it out...that someonehas still not heard of these ebay scams.

You could walk into a Harley dealer and sell them that bike outright for more money than that.

 

Thats why it might be fun to arrange a real time meeting for the pickup..

OK, I just heard back from the seller, "Joe". Here is his message:


Tim,

Thank you for contacting me regarding your willingness to purchase my item.This is what i think that you will need to know.

First of all i want to tell you that the price includes all the shipping costs and insurance so you will not have to pay any extra charges.The item has a Clear Title which will come along with it.

The bike is in perfect condition as a new one and very well maintained. No damages, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects.

It will be shipped from London,United Kingdom via Lufthansa Air insured and it will take 7 days tops until you will have it at your door.

The bike will come with all the documents you need to register it (including a clear title wich you will receive included in the package) and i must tell you that it is still under warranty. You will not have any problems with registration because the bike is an US model never registered in United Kingdom.

I am willing to let it go for $7,000.00 US dollars with shipping costs and insurance.
The payment will be made through eBay and only after you will receive the package i will receive the payment.
