Custom chopper snobs

RE: Custom chopper snobs
I probably could have owned any custom that I wanted, but I just wanted a Harley Davidson.
As soon as my wheels come in, I'llhave almost 31K in my 06' Night Train.
Call me stupid I guess, but I wanted to customize a bike that I could actually "ride", and one that would actually "handle".
Maybe I'll get a custom down the road, but I would bet that my next ride to the collection will be another Harley.

What do you think metric riders call us when we don't wave at them? Is there any difference? Personally, I wave at everyone on two wheels.

OK, if you insist....your stupid.
no im just messing with people. to each his own i guess. i personally just spent 24 large on a SG, and i totally agree with your point on wanting a bike you can ride. ure not stupid....u is smart....me is poe (well at least after my latest purchase i am).
i guess its all about what you are after. some dudes like to ride, some dudes like to stand there and stare, and polish, and look cool and not waive to people.

Frankly I just don't get the whole chopper/custom bike thing. Most of them (the bikes) look like something Liberace would ride. I can appreciate some of the talent that goes into the metalworking and paint, but that's as far as I go. I'm sick of all the Harley magazines being obsessed with choppers. But then I'm into retro bikes (hence my present choices)so maybe that's why I don't care for them.

RE: Custom chopper snobs
I ride a chopper. What I get a kick out of is that everyone thinks they've gotta be expensive. Yeah way too many doctors and lawyers buying choppers cause they're on TV. Can't ride em, no clue about damned near anything, could easily replace the bike with a Vette or Ferrari and it wouldn't make a difference to em. Bunch of pain in the *** snobs who look down on anyone who isn't riding a "custom". But from my experience 99% of HD owners are riding "customs" cause they sure as hell didn't buy them from the factory that way.
I just prefer choppers because I get to build it with my own two hands and can keep the cost under 20K which is basically the price of a regular HD anyways. I don't look down on any riders and hang out with guys with HD's, Honda's, sport bikes, whatever.
