What causes leather to shink?

Fox creek actually makes a set of leather pieces to lace into the sides if you really need to go that far to make it fit .

Too much turkey at thanksgiving and Christmas! There is a cure, though. Put the vest in a bathtub of water and get it really soaked. Put on 2-3 layers(sweat shirts, hoodies, etc) and put the vest on until it gets pretty dry and it will stretch out to a larger size. Works with shoes too. Only problem is, you have to wear a wet vest around for 3-4 hours.

I reread this and realized that you said you were going to have a holster fit in the vest....guess it will have to be for a derringer or a Walther TPH
