alot of things can be done but it all depends on how far it has gone and how much you are willing to spend we need pics to be able to help further

I invested half a can of black Plastidip and a bunch of tape and newspaper to mask everything off. It took me two tries to get it right, but they look good now. That grey finish never would get properly clean!

There seems to be a clear coat on them that will have to be removed then you can work out the corrosion. I sanded mne then painted them black as that was look I wanted but as stated you could easily sand them down and get finer each time then go with buffing compound on a buffing pad and shine them all the way to chrome like appearance if you like. I did this to the frame on my Honda dirtbike when they went aluminum and it looked great took some time and elbow grease.

If you would just use the very good search engine on this site, you will find many more detailed directions, specific products, etc.. for these type of common bike issues. Why try to reinvent the wheel every few months?

They have to disassemble my forks to repair some crash damage so I'm taking the opportunity to have them powder coated black while the insurance company is picking up the labor. It was only $80. I kept waxing them and they still got some pitting on them.

The pitting is caused by leaving dead bugs on them. Never leave dead bugs on your bike. I always wiped my motorcycles down with pro shine before they go to bed. I have a 98 with the original clear coat on the front forks. No pitting, even where rocks have removed clear coat over the aluminum.
