Exclamation Saddlebag Fell Off!! Will Harley Davidson Replace?

I have a 2014 Street Glide and During a ride the Right Saddlebag fell off. After further investigation I noticed that the "Receptacle Stud" that holds the Pin in place that secures the saddlebag to the frame failed. The Hard bag has some pretty good rash. It needs replaced or at the least new bodywork.

Will Harley Davidson proper say "To Bad So Sad" Or will they accept responsibility and replace the saddle bag and make this right?

FYI- I have the full extended warranty program...

Please give me some feedback.

I think it will be up to you to disprove operator error. Good luck.

If you removed the bag at some point, they will hang the blame on you. I never had one fail. They are called Dzus Fasteners, pretty reliable design, used in racing and aircraft.

They would be the ones to ask. But, if it's under warranty, I don't know why it wouldn't be replaced, if it was never taken off since you've had it...it that could be proven. That's just an uneducated opinion.

I may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure he's talking about the bracket the fastener locks in to.

If it's a part failure, yes. Operator error, which is more common, no.

How exactly did it "fail"?

I will bet that someone did not attach it properly. Hard lesson to learn, but trying to blame the company for an obvious user error is also not the correct path.
