Default Insulation that blocks heat?

Anyone know of an insulation that can be put under the seat to block heat transfer as well as where can it be purchased? Also has anyone tried the thigh shield and had any luck with it?

if it's just under the seat and not to been seen at all....oven mits work really well...people had to use these on the new and improved Honda St1300....until they figured out their heat issues..................BC

Kuryakan makes excellent heat shields that protect you from the heat of the rear jug.

I had one made:

https://www.hdforums.com/m_1394461/tm.htm

I couldn't fit pipe wrap under my current heat shields and since my problem was directly related to that pipe. I've also considered having the pipes ceramic'd that will be my next step.....All because I really love the look of my pipes.[&:]

I didn't think the "Fried Thighs" setup was going to work for me(though they did offer to work with me) again because it radiates from my pipe and it would not have covered that.

Thanks BR,

Those pictures are great, did you get to go on a long ride with it yet? What did you do about heat transfer through the seat?

I have a Corbin seat which is thinner, or lower profile than the Harley seats, which allows for more heat transfer, I live in AZ and it's already near triple didgits... the heat is killing the ole fat booty[8D]. Hence I'm looking for a solution for both the thighs and the butt. I ride through the week when I can, when we go on our small group rides (every weekend) we rarely ever do less than 450 miles so I want to minimize the dis-comfort level as much as I can.

JC Whitney sells this mat that was designed to put in the floor to prevent heat transfer. I have used it in motor holmes with great success. One side looks like alum foil, cost is small,
I bought the Kurry ones for my gal.

Wouldn't you know it got cold here and I've been sick so I haven't had a chance to try it....sigh.

You might do better with the Fried Thighs folks or the Kuryakanheat shields from what you describe. So far I haven't had a problem with heat through the seat, even when it was 113 here. My seat is shaved with a Gel insert.
