biker life style

I have a good job. I have a wife, kids, mortgage, pool, dog, cat etc. I have no big beard, short hair-clean cut for work. I wear leather jacket/chaps when it's cold because I ride year round (when I actually am home). I have a vest to keep my shirt from flying in my face in the summer and, yes, it has patches on it but then again I collect FD and my military unit patches.
Sometimes, I ride with my friends. Sometimes I ride alone. Sometimes I just ride to ride. I ride when I go to the grocery store, or if I am taking my kid somewhere and I definatley rode to work when I could (can't now). I always (and will always) wear a helmet because I promised my wife and kids I would. I wave to everyone when I safely can and a lot of times I get a wave back, but not always. I cannot ever see me without a bike.
I took a fall once on a friends bike and it scared the $hit out of me (even though it really was not a bad one and I was lucky) so I didn't ride for almost 20 years. I regret that.
My dad envies me and my wife sort of understands.
Many would call me a "RUB", I don't care. Some would call me a poser? Yah, whatever. I work in a place where people die before they have had a chance to really live. I just like to ride. Biker Lifestyle? I dunno, don't care. I just like to ride. I tend to hang out with people having the same interests as me so...call it what you will.

My thoughts.....
If you are in public, in normal, non riding attire, no biker clothing at all, and biker types come up to you like they know you and ask "so what do you ride?" you must be pretty obvious.
To me, a biker can't hide what he really is. Put him in a 3 piece suit, and he still can't hide the true person that he is.
I've got lots of biker buddies that work perfectly normal day jobs, but one look at them will tell off that they ride.
I guess what I'm saying is that if you're really in it, you don't have to talk the talk for others to notice that you always walk the walk....
