I only ride with close friends

 

I do most of my riding solo or with my son. There are only a handful of people that I'm comfortable riding in a group with. If doing a ride with a group of more than 5, I want to be in the back...and will be WAY back if things start looking bad.

 

Like a lot of things in live.... if you choose wisely a group ride is a blast...
if you choose poorly..... not so much

Charity rides? I avoid them too many yahoos who don't have a clue

 

I don't mind them. Its always the the same friends that we ride with. We also go once a year in April to the Talimena scenic drive.

 

Sometimes I ride alone, sometimes I ride with a couple of buddies, sometimes I ride with the PGR and those can get big. I prefer alone riding.

 

Not my favorite thing to do, but manage when need be.

 

Solo,only gotta watch out for myself,and I'm the last person I want to hurt.Save the group rides with OL she likes the hoopla,stay in the back. We also do alot of touring together and nothing better than a OL who loves to ride as much as you do.

 

And you posted this why??? Does it really matter? Ride with who you want, go where you want, and quit being such a woman where you need a group's opinion on what you need to do. Grow a set.

 

Years ago rode on a regular basis with a group that numbered up to a dozen bikes. All good people. The only time trouble arose is when it was time to pick a place to eat. Never was a consensus and it resulted in some unhappy moments.

Got out of biking for years until just a few months ago.

Now will only ride with one or two other friends and the details of the ride are typically worked out in advance.

 

I ride alone most of the time. Occasionally I ride with up to 3-5 people who I know well. More than that is a PITA. I avoid large groups of strangers like poker runs and charity rides like the plague.
