Leaf blower for me...

If you already own a leaf blower...use it.
If you don't own a leaf blower...buy one.
If you don't own a special motorcycle blower...don't buy it.

The shop vac is the same as the leaf blower....dual tasks. You get more for your money.

Can you use the special motorcycle blower for anything else that the standard leaf blower cannot do?

Had the same sentiments as you above, until picking up the special Air Force motorcycle dryer. To be sure, it is hard to beat the price of a leaf blower. Used one for years. Nevertheless, it still can leave water in cracks and corners of the bike, and the broad air flow doesn't dry a bike as quickly as it could. With the Air Force product the air is more precise, getting water out of the controls and engine area more quickly, but the big diff is the warm heated air coming out of the nozzle. It makes a big difference. Instead of blowing water around on the seat it evaporates quickly if not immediately. One sees the water precisely removed and evaporated instead of just leaf blower blown around. Yeah, a leaf blower is far better than towel drying, but the motorcycle dryer product removes all the water more thoroughly, quickly, andprecisely.

 

I've gotta throw one in for Dry Wash n Guard too, its been the standard in the boating industry for years. I use it between washings with water, I never go after gritty areas but thats just me.

I use a shamois and blot dry.

 

I use an air compressor (100 psi) with a trigger nozzle on the end. Works great!!! I get the water off the frame, handle bars, and engine with the compressor then towel dry the rest of the bike. I've tried the lief blower, but it does not compare to the precision and force of a good air compressor.

 

I've had the cycle dry for three years and it works great! I bought it at the Javitts center bike show. Guy was doing a demo. $35. Has a rubber tip so you can get in every tight space.

You should never use a leaf blower because its dirty from blowing leaves. (Its like sand blasting your bike) Also never use a air compressor because of the oils and water in the tank and lines.

 

I have to vote for the Air Force dryer. It works great for me. As far as I am concerned, well worth the money.
