Wife's Butt is Sore

RE: Wife's Butt is Sore
The Mustang Plain Smooth Touring Seat looks like it might be a candidate since it has a 14" rear seat. The Sundowner rear seat is only 12". I'm not sure how much, if any, difference that additional two inches would make since my wife is only 5'5" 115 lbs. Has anybody had both of these seats who would care to comment?

BadBob,
I had the same problem with my wife and my Grandson he's 10 years old. I got the sundowner seat but they both said it put there legs in a bad position it was to wide. This is on a Deuce. I thought about my options and was looking at the foot pegs. I raised the the pegs about 2 and half inches this changed the leg position and they can now ride long distance with no problems. I know your bike is not a Deuce but maybe add a piece of wood or something to raise the foot position as a test to see if it helps. If it helps head to the shop for some reengineering.

Had the same problem with my 03 RKC, put the HD Pillow look seat on it. Yes it is big, bulky, but really comfy for both me and the wife. Hell, rode back from Cherokee NC last year, 640 miles in 12 hours and the wife never complained once. Bought a new 07 Ultra in Aug, wife "made me" by the pillow look seat for the Ultra. It is very wide, and plush and has a nice "step" in the seat that almost acts as a backrest. She is only 5'2 and 120, so no wide load here, but I am 6'2" so the higher step in the seat helps also for her to look over my shoulder.

I had no problem until I changed to a bad lander type seat that I really like hard and low looks great and I can ride 500 miles any day wife hates it so when she goes I put the stock softail seat back on and every thing is ok however the first thing I had to do was relocate the rear pegs to get her comfy and of course a back rest now 150/200 miles and not even a potty stop is required, good luck

I guess it comes down to how wide the passengers seat needs to be. I think the problem with the stock RKC seat is the narrow passenger seating.

I have the Sundowner and my wife does 100 miles no problem, now she hasn't ridden further than that with me so it is possible that she could go further. I have ridden further solo and it's a real sweet seat.

RE: Wife's Butt is Sore
One day last summer, my wife came home with a big box and told me she had bought me something. I ripped into the big box and found a new seat in it. She said, "Oh, maybe that's for me." Then she said, "Oh, I got you something else. No, I guess those are for me too." They were Kury foot pegs. The ones that ratchet up in like four positions. The seat is 16" wide. Yes, it looks like a Lazy-boy, but if it helps her to ride longer distances and not be sore (or crabby), I'm game. HD makes a couple of different styles that have this width. My wife loves it -- its not bad for me either...
