You guys are all way too fancy. I just picked up a new set off ebay $130 for the pair, package deal. Took just the wheels in to the local motorsports place and had them mounted and balanced for $25 each. So for $180 I had a set of new tires that are better than anything available to the guys riding similar bikes 40 years ago, pretty much by default.

Honestly, I'm not sure. Say they weren't. three years in a warehouse wouldn't make th
em any less safe. As far as I know.

My HD dealer gives a pretty good discount on tires and when I take off the wheels he mounts them for $20.00 apiece. I run D402 Dunlops and llike them just fine. Just had new ones put on at 17,000 miles.

I only run Metzelers. Great tires. Always find a decent deal online and never go to the local HD dealer for any service at all.

Sounds like a great deal. Hope they're good quality. I don't take chances on tires. It's what keeps my bike upright on the road.

True a three year old tire would not bother me either. But a date like 3505 mite.

$131 for a set of Shinkos (way better tire than the OEM) and $90 to mount and highspeed balance at an indy. Installed June of last year and one was made in dec 2012 and the other was feb 2013.

Less costly dont mean old tires, just means smart buying. Motorcycle super store. They move so many tires they dont sit long.

OEM tires are trash and you pay more for the HD logo molded than the quality or materials in the tires. Pure junk.

"OEM tires are trash and you pay more for the HD logo molded than the quality or materials in the tires. Pure junk" ... You're a bit off base ... I've been riding almost 50 years and the tires on my 2009 FLHTCU ( OEM ) were the best tires I've ever ridden. Fantastic mileage too.
