Default I'm going to be a 2%er

Michigan State University is offering a civillian version of the Police Motor school. I am taking it at Woodstock Harley in Woodstock Illinois. The class seems pretty cool, it is $395.00 and includes the bike. It is 32 hours of instruction. I signed up for the May3-7 class, I am pretty stoked.

From what I know about the Motor Officer courses, you've made an excellent decision!!!

MSF offers a course(very good one I might add)much cheaper.I paid $25 thru Motorcycle Ohio and used their bikes and gass. However that being said A good course is invaluable reguardless of the monetary cost.

I took the one through MSU last year (at Woodstock) out of the 12 that showed up the first day. 8 showed up for the test and 4 actually passed the test. (One that had to retest was a MSF instructor/BRC) My wife is taking the course on Mothers day weeked
The fact that you use a full size bike vs. a 125 makes a big difference

They continue with the training regardless of weather. Was interesting doing the emergency breaking (lockups)on the wet pavement.

It is certainlly worth the money and your time.

Thanks Buddha, it is good to know. With those results it looks like it is going to be a tough class.

Tinknocker, I have takenall of the MSF stuff including the Instructor course, I want to take it to the next level.

The 395 includes their bike(we had some poeple go from the Buell (blast to the Sportster to the Road King) during the class. Considering that you will drop it. EVERYONE in the the class dropped it at least once and we had one gentlemen wear himself out picking his up doing the u-turn or the figure 8.

Sounds like a great class!

Thought I'd look up something comparable here in FL and so far have found only:

Try our new Police Motorcycle School for civilians! You provide the bike and we provide the exciting training.
Police Motorcycle School - $1,000 (call us for more information)

There's no way I can make the weeknight classes and work the same day. Maybe I should look to burning some of my vacation time!
