The bars I put on are Carlini Menacing apes that are 1 1/4 in diameter. The issue is the ram mount base will not fit because the U bolt will not fit around the new bars. I have done a search but the only base I found was like seventy five dollars. So were can I find one? Thanks for your help.

 

You need to be more specific on the bike as well as Ram mount. I am guessing a RKC and Ram mount for GPS? We can help but more details.

I used a cheap 1-1/4" u-bolt from the hardware store that could be bent and re-shaped. Widened it out slightly then pounded it back into shape around my old bars, which are also 1-1/4".

Rethink this. You have a nice bike and just put nice bars on it. Gonna look like crap IMO. I have the Zumo 660 on my Road King and KST Kustom Mayhem bars. The bars have only been on a few months and are satin black but I already had the chrome HD handlebar Zumo mount. The contrast is nice at least to me. All I'm saying is don't cheap your bike out just to have a GPS on it.

 

This mount works very well. Sturdy mount that bolts to your handlebar. This can be moved to any position for easy visibility. Uses OEM Ram components. You can also use your smartphone as a GPS if you need to.
