I'm 54 and have a young friend, 23 I believe. He had an old Sporty but after returning from the sand pit bought a new 12? Street Glide. When the 14's came out he just had to have one. Age is just a number and not a defining line of who should own what.

Bought the King at 33. Couldn't afford one before that and didn't want anything else.

Alot of the "younger" crowd I know tend to own sport bikes, and then as they kinda chill out as they get older they transition into Harleys. Cost is also a factor. I got my first bike when I was 18, and I could barely afford the $1500 I paid for it. At the time that made Harleys way out of my price range. As I got older, got more work experience, I got better jobs with better pay, making the HD a viable option.

Wasnt trying to offend anyone with the "Seasoned comment". Quite the opposite. I was just wondering who all on here was in my age group to see where us young guys are in carrying on the MoCo's legacy. Dont have anything against people older than me and why some of yall choose to believe that I dont know. But for those who responded to my question without telling us how you "feel" thank you. Ride On!

Ridden others' Harleys since about 23, got mine at 26. A good friend of mine bought his Electra Glide Standard when he was 25. I know a couple other riders that aren't that old either.

I bought my first Harley when I was 17. A used and abused FLH. That was 48 years ago and I haven't been without a Harley one single day since then. When I got my first, everyone my age was buying Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. Dreams, and Scramblers for Honda. XS650's for Yamaha, and the the 650 W series for Kawasaki. A couple years later, the Mach III was the hot ticket for Kawasaki. The Mach III or other 2 strokers is what todays sport bike rider likely would have been looking at back then. I felt the same way then as you do today. Didn't see a bunch of guys my age on Harleys thats for sure.

My niece got her first Harley when she was 18. She's 30 now and on her 3rd. My best friend got his first for his 30th birthday. That's it for my Harley owner age knowledge.

LOL dude don't sweat it. It's the nature of HDForum. Most of my friends ride sport bikes and it's cool. Never knew it was supposed to be a problem until I bought a Harley. I never had a problem with anyone's age, bike, or brand. Just ignore the haters because there's a lot of cool people here. Welcome to the forum
