RE: Seat pad question
I tried about a 3/4" gel pad. Didn't like it very much. Set me too high and didn't like the feel of moving or "gelling" around in the seat when cornering, etc. Might try a thinner, sheapsking type for summer riding.

"Air Hawk" seat pad is the way to go IMO. Sits you up about 1/2 in. in the saddle. No slipping and can ride for hours on this pad.

For long ride comfort, Nothing beats a good gel pad. Hell, I even have Gel under shorts for the 500 mile + days........Keeps the blood flow'n and stops the burn.

RE: Seat pad question
A lot of people like the Air Hawk. I had one and it put my gonads to sleep so I sent it back. I'm sure they work well for some people. Before you buy anything, I suggest logging onto www.airrider.com and check out their gel pads with memory foam. I used one on a Heritage and now useone on top of my Road Zeppelin to give me additional height and more comfort. They're great, come in many different sizes and shapes.

RE: Seat pad question
I recently installed a gel pad on mine and love it so far.
I got the kind you have to remove the cover then hone out the foam for a perfect fit and glue in the gel pad.
The seat looks 100% original.
Does anyone know how to add a pic? Usually there would be a "browze" button at the bottom but none on this site.

Where did you get your gel pad and how was it taking the cover off your seat and recovering. I have thought about doing this but would like a little insight before trying it.
