For those of you who own, or have owned an early 80's Tour Glide, what seat do you currently have?

I currently have a Le Pera solo seat on my bike. I would really like a 2up seat that correctly fits the bike, but I also need something that keeps me low and pushes me forward so my feet can reach the ground and my arms can reach the bars.

I have a guy that wants to charge around $400-$500 to modify my current seat. I'm feeling that's a bit much.

So, the 2 other options I've found is getting a new old stock seat #52151 as pictured here: https://www.google.com/search?q=5215...w=1088&bih=516

Which seems quite a bit pillowy and will likely negate the 2" I've gained by lowering the bike. Orig, but not a great option.

It looks slimmer and not as puffy. Does anyone have this seat on their tour glide? What are your thoughts on it?

Should I just face the fact that my little *** is going to need to have the seat modified anyway?

Does anyone have a different seat on their FLT to push you forward and lower?

Any other advice or experience with putting on a different seat on this model?

 

Older thread, i know! Just wondering what you ended up doing with you seat situation? I just got an 81 Tour Glide with a really ugly seat and need something else too!

 

I had mine done years ago for a couple hundred bucks with just a heavy vinyl material, very comfortable.
