Default Gasoline leak-spill

rode 150 miles yesterday afternoon and refueled. filled tank to the brim as usual. Rode home (2 miles) and parked in garage. About an hour later, i start smelling gas. checked bike in garage and saw that gasoline had spilled/leaked from her about .25 gallon (more or less). i moved bike and no further leaks all night. fuel gage still on full...

??

you overfilled it. There is an overflow hose. Did you by chance fill it while sitting on it (off the kickstand)? Cause if you did, once you put it on the kickstand, it dumped the excess out the overflow.

Even if you filled up with it on the kickstand a little heat expansion can cause overflow spill. If it happens again try to see where it's leaking from just to be sure

I always fill my tank to the point I could barely get another drop in and still be able to screw the cover on. Never had a leak but my bike is an 01 Road King??? I live 2 miles from where I usually fill up and usually top it off on my way home. Hate having to go somewhere and need to get gas first.

It happens to me occasionally when I try get every last drop in. I live 2 miles from the gas station too. My 05 EG and '12 EG both. Not so much with the '12 EG since it has a 6 gallon tank, I don't try to get every last drop quiet so much.
